Frequently Asked Questions

Please contact us at info@southcoast.co.uk if you cannot find an answer to your question.

As an agency, we recommend allowing a minimum recruitment timeframe of around four weeks, depending on the candidate’s notice period. We work closely with each family to ensure we find the perfect match, carefully considering each candidate’s skills, previous experience, and personality to suit your home and specific childcare needs.

All candidates wishing to register with South Coast Nannies must meet the requirements below before we are able to assist with job placements and work opportunities.

Required documentation

  • An up-to-date CV outlining previous employment and childcare experience
  • Valid photo identification, such as a passport and/or driving licence
  • A current DBS certificate (or police check for non-UK residents)
  • An up-to-date Paediatric First Aid certificate
  • Relevant childcare qualifications, certificates, or degrees where applicable
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK
  • Proof of address

References

For safeguarding purposes, we require a minimum of two recent childcare-related references from previous employers. Wherever possible, we aim to verify references covering your full childcare employment history.

Interview Process

All candidates will attend an interview with one of our consultants. During the interview, we will review documentation, discuss previous childcare experience and skills, and gain an understanding of future career goals to help match candidates with suitable families and positions.

Clients are supported throughout the entire employment process from initial enquiry through to placement and beyond. Once we understand your requirements, we carefully shortlist suitable candidates and arrange interviews at a time that works for you. We provide guidance at every stage, including interview support, contract advice, and help with final decision-making. After placement, we remain available to offer ongoing support to ensure the arrangement runs smoothly and both families and nannies are happy with the match.
